"Nisaab" is an application designed with the purpose to provide the necessary learning materials, study guides, and important past paper questions to the students in matriculation and intermediate grades. The idea behind the development of this application is to help the students of higher secondary classes ace their board examinations with impressive grades.
Not all the students are bright ones. Some of them need extra help with their studies. Studying for exams is one of the greatest challenges that a student has to go through.
In Pakistan, students still rely on old methods of exam preparation and studying i.e. Past Papers, Guides, etc. Though the internet has made it easier to share knowledge for free with online courses, videos, articles, podcasts, and apps, the real task is to get the proper guides and content for the preparation and organizing of content.
Student loses their momentum and focus easily and get confused about the preparation ideas and schemes they find online or through some other sources.
Some students aren't able to study well due to several reasons like
• Being lazy and careless.
• Not finding the right direction.
• Being shy to ask questions that confuse them
• Unexpected events like injury, traumas or relocations, etc
• Lack of guidance.
I worked as a UI/UX Designer on this project. My key responsibilities were to gather requirements from the product development team and to design a solution from the scratch. I created the information architecture and worked on the visual design and elements as well as on user flows and interaction design. I was the sole designer working on the project under the supervision of the UX director.
"Nisaab" is a mobile application, designed in a way that will help students smartly prepare for their exams. It provides organized data for different subjects necessary to get prepared for exams as well as gives unique insights to better plan their study. Also helps students connect with other students and teachers to help improve their performance and grade. After having several workshops and meetings with the product development team I created an information architecture for the application. The basic features of the application are
Data Sorting – The user can prioritize the studies by having subject-wise organized data. Each subject is further divided into chapters, and topics and also sorted by the nature of questions and has its progress meter that will help the student track their performance.
Insights -Paper patterns and insights will help the student to get prepared for the stuff that is necessary to get them pass the exams.
Progress Meter - The progress meter will keep the track of overall preparations and also motivate the student to cover the topics that are being left behind.
Flag - Users can mark questions and topics and add notes to them for future reference or discuss with their classmates or teachers.
Quiz - Students can take a self-assessment quiz, which is time bounded to evaluate their preparations.

There are some considerations and future work that will scale the product.
Dynamic Content Management system – A content management system should be there to give full control over the content of the application so that it can be introduced to different education systems.
News Portal -A news portal can be introduced to keep the students up to date with news and announcements regarding their examinations.
Mentorship - Mentors can be introduced in the future to help students get help from them online via mobile application.
Usability Testing - Usability testing of high fidelity prototype needs to be done to gather insights and optimise the design according to the feedback.
