The DARZEE is a digital platform where users can request to have custom outfits for them. It's a mobile application that allows users to choose and pick or customize their dresses and get them stitched in time and delivered to their doorsteps. The Project was owned by PREON Technologies which aims at infusing new digital eco-systems that bring buyers and sellers closer, through innovative new approaches. Their agenda is to improvise the lives of the masses through convenience, comfort, accessibility, and reach.
Due to the pandemic situation, every physical market shifted to online or digital platforms. In Pakistan, the conventional way to get a dress stitched is physically approaching the tailors at their shops. Other than the lockdown situation during the pandemic, women face several challenges while getting their dresses stitched conventionally, some of which include:
• Expensive Pricing
• Fitting Issues
• Un-met Deadlines
• Inconvenience
• Lack of creativity and designs from the tailors
• Even after paying excessively females are not satisfied with the finished products.
I worked as a UI/UX Designer on this project. My key responsibilities were to gather requirements from the product development team and to design a solution from the scratch. I created the information architecture and worked on the visual design and elements as well as on user flows and interaction design. I was the sole designer working on the project under the supervision of the UX director
The young, modern and a chic girl who is in line with all the current trends and fads. Her look is driven more towards Western staples along with trending Ethnic wear.
The strong, confident and ambition driven working woman. Jennie’s look is more Professional and Elegant; gravitating towards Formal wear.
A graceful woman in her late 30s busy in house chores prefers simple and comfortable wearables. Her attire have a Modest and Humble feel to it.
A friendly living to next door middle aged woman. Having a Vibrant and Bubbly personality. She likes Colorful, Traditional & Desi Clothes.
The main challenge is to provide users a hassle-free usable and efficient experience with full customization options and freedom to design their dresses themselves according to their desires.
There are different types of customizations users may need also there must be something in the mind of users they want to tell their tailor manually rather than choosing from the options.
Getting the measurements precisely is also a challenge.
There are no other solutions in the Pakistani market similar to our product so users don't have any prior exposure to such products
After having several workshops and meetings with the product development team I created an information architecture for the application. The basic features of the application are
Quick Stitch – Let the user can start by picking a design and then customize it fully according to their need. For this, I break down the process into a few steps to not cluttered the screen and to let the user keep their focus intact. Also, the user can provide extra instructions as an audio note and also can provide reference images.
Measurements -There are two methods for the measurements provided. the input method and to select the option where users can provide "The DARZEE" with their best-fit outfit to take measurements from.
Avatars - There are 4 different avatars in the application to relate to the user's dressing style. The user will get the relevant designs to feed on their home screen according to their selected avatar.
My Orders - Users can track the status of their order by using this option.
Support - Live chat is also available to cater to any of the user queries and to resolve their issues.
Favorites - The user can mark any of the designs as a favorite for future reference or use.
Tutorial - A guide is introduced for the user to make them learn how to use the application and explore different features of the app.
"The Darzee" Mobile App Site Map - showing the basic navigations
"The Darzee" mobile application needs data that has to be dynamic and change frequently according to the fashion trends, promotions, and new product launches. Also, it needed an order management system to automate the flow and keep track of the order.
CC Portal – Customer care representatives are the end-users for this portal. They receive orders here. process them and forward them for further proceedings.
CMS– CMS of "The Darzee" allows the admin to fully control the contents of the mobile applications. whether it is to modify, remove or add categories, products, or styles. or to add new avatars and manipulate the data accordingly, all can be done through the user-friendly CMS portal.
A mobile application is also designed for "The Dazree" riders. Their main responsibility is to pick up the garments from the consumer's address and drop them at "The Darzee" workshop. After the order has been tailored the riders need to drop them at the consumer's address and collect the money if it is the case.
A mobile app covering all the requirements is proposed for the riders which has the following features.
Pick-ups and drop-offs are sorted separately.
Daily targets are highlighted
Orders sort in the list according to the distance from the rider's current location to help him pick the best shortest route.
A map is provided for the riders to get directions.
An order receipt is provided to riders to match the details of the order and avoid errors.
Daily progress and targets are visible to the riders.
Report a Problem feature is provided to cater to any unpleasant incident.
